Description

The drink is quick and easy to prepare. 1. Wash the apricots thoroughly and cut them in half. Remove the pits, but don't rush to discard them—apricot pits can also be used in this liqueur recipe. Crush a handful of the pits; they will add a special piquancy to the liqueur's taste and color. 2. Next, you have two options: you can leave the apricot halves whole or chop them in a blender, for example. 3. In a small saucepan, add sugar and pour in water. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely. Once boiling, let it simmer for about two minutes, then remove from heat. 4. Cool the syrup to room temperature and pour it over the apricots. 5. Cover the jar (or bottle) with several layers of cheesecloth and let it sit for about 3 days. 6. Then attach a wine fermentation lid (with an airlock) and leave it for a month. 7. After that time, strain the apricot liqueur through several layers of cheesecloth into a clean bottle. 8. Let it continue aging. You can taste it after approximately 1.5 to 2 months. Another variation for making apricot liqueur: you can infuse it in brandy. This will result in a richer flavor and a stronger alcoholic drink.
