Peppermint oil
Description
Mint oil gives dishes an incredible flavor and aroma—be sure to try making it. Heat the oil after straining to prevent it from remaining cloudy. If you prefer not to heat it, store the oil in the refrigerator.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. You can use several types of mint to fully infuse the oil with the aroma and flavor of the greens.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the mint sprigs and dry them with paper towels. Pluck the leaves and flowers (if any) into a deep container or a tall glass suitable for an immersion blender.
- 3
Step 3

Pour in odorless vegetable oil. There should be plenty of it so that the entire mixture is finely ground.
- 4
Step 4

Blend everything with an immersion blender for about 3-4 minutes, occasionally scraping the puree off the whisk.
- 5
Step 5

Strain through a sieve and remove the pulp, pressing it well.
- 6
Step 6

Pour the oil into a saucepan or a pot with a non-stick bottom.
- 7
Step 7

Heat the oil for 2-3 minutes until all the impurities settle to the bottom.
- 8
Step 8

Transfer to a bowl or salad bowl and cool. Pour into a sauce container or bottle with a lid.
- 9
Step 9

Store the mint oil in a cool, dark place. Use as needed.
