Swedish-style meat
Description
Beef is a very finicky meat. Personally, it doesn't always turn out well for me. But Swedish-style beef is a dish in which the meat always comes out delicious, tender, and juicy! You can serve the meat with any side dish; I prefer boiled potatoes, sprinkled with herbs, and sometimes I add a pickle, like marinated beet. But that's up to your taste ;)
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the beef. Cut it into small pieces.
- 2
Step 2

Take a saucepan, melt the butter in it, and add the beef. Sear the beef pieces over high heat for about 3 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Remove the beef from the pot and set aside. Add finely chopped onion to the pot. Fry until soft and slightly translucent, about 5 minutes. Then add minced garlic, mix and cook for another minute.
- 4
Step 4

Return the beef to the pot with the onion. Mix. Add 4 cups of water and cover with a lid. Simmer the meat for one to one and a half hours.
- 5
Step 5

While the meat is cooking, you can prepare the side dish. Slice the potatoes and put them to boil. Bring to a boil, then simmer for about 8 minutes. Check with a fork to see if the potatoes are soft. If they are, they're ready. Drain the water and leave the potatoes in the pot, cover with a towel to keep them warm.

Step 6

This is what the finished meat will look like. But that's not all yet!
- 7
Step 7

Remove the meat and carrots from the pot (separately from each other).
- 8
Step 8

Take a few pieces of boiled potatoes and mash them (you can add some onion). Add the mashed potatoes to the broth. Cook for about five minutes. Then return the meat and carrots to the broth. Your Swedish-style meat is ready! :)
