French-style pork with mushrooms
Description
For preparing French-style pork with mushrooms, I recommend choosing lean pork, as mushrooms, grated cheese, and mayonnaise already make the dish quite caloric. Fatty pork will only make it heavier. Therefore, I also don't recommend using porcini mushrooms. The ideal choice is button mushrooms, which go perfectly with meat. Optionally, you can add tomatoes as well. See the recipe below.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare a meat spice mix: combine nutmeg, cloves, coriander, ground black pepper, and salt (you can use a ready-made mix for frying or roasting meat).
- 2
Step 2

Cut the pork into portion pieces, pound well, rub with a spice mixture, and stack in a pile so the meat can absorb the flavors.
- 3
Step 3

Slice the onion into half-rings, or full rings if the onions are small. Grate the carrot on a shredder, and cut the mushrooms into cubes or quarters. First, sauté the onion in oil, then add the carrot and mushrooms. Fry everything over medium heat, adding spices, until fully cooked.
- 4
Step 4

Place the meat on a baking sheet, and put the mushroom mixture on each piece.
- 5
Step 5

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Carefully spread mayonnaise on each piece of meat.
- 6
Step 6

And generously sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Step 7

Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until done, until the cheese is melted and the meat turns golden brown. Serve the finished pork with mushrooms French-style with potatoes or simply with vegetables and fresh herbs. I prefer the second option.
