
Beef stroganoff with mushrooms baked in the oven
Description
The dish is easy to prepare without unnecessary complications. French-style meat will appeal to both men and women. You can use mayonnaise or sour cream; I prefer the latter, as mayonnaise is a cold sauce and shouldn't be reheated. A golden cheesy crust, tender and juicy filling, along with a hearty, tender piece of meat—this is simply wonderful. The dish is ready to be served.

Choose meat with a small layer of fat. Wash it and cut into pieces of uniform thickness (1-2 centimeters).

Lightly pound each piece on both sides, then season with salt and pepper. Place in a single layer on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil.

Peel the onion and slice it thinly into half-rings or rings, then place it on top of the meat.

Wash the mushrooms and slice them, then lightly fry them in vegetable oil in a pan, and transfer them onto a layer of onion.

Wash the tomatoes and cut them into slices, then arrange them in an even layer over the meat.

Brush the tomatoes with sour cream and sprinkle them with herbs and cheese grated on a coarse grater.
