Beef Stroganoff in a pan
Description
The secret to successful French-style meat is that it's easy to prepare, and the ingredients are readily available. The dish turns out excellent in most cases. Usually, it's baked, but I'd like to share a recipe where we'll cook it in a pan. For pan-fried French-style meat, I use pork loin, though neck portion works as well. Choose a hard variety of cheese. Let's take a look at the recipe.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Pound the meat well on both sides, then season with salt and pepper.
- 2
Step 2

Sear on both sides in a skillet over high heat. A golden crust should form, but the meat should not burn.
- 3
Step 3

Now place the meat on a baking sheet. A flavorful cheese crust will form only in the oven (although you can try using a microwave). The baking time will depend on the thickness of the meat and its doneness after initial frying.
- 4
Step 4

Slice the mushrooms and place them on the meat.
- 5
Step 5

Cut the tomatoes into slices.
- 6
Step 6

Place on top of the mushrooms.
- 7
Step 7

Grate the cheese on a grater. The harder the cheese, the better.
- 8
Step 8

Mix with mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste if necessary.
- 9
Step 9

Cover the meat with the cheese-mayonnaise mixture. Place in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20–25 minutes.
- 10
Step 10

And that's our fried meat à la française ready! It can be served with potatoes or fresh vegetables.
