Pork à la Française Baked in the Oven

Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. It's best to use boneless meat, just the meat itself. Before baking, the pork should be lightly pounded on both sides so that it cooks more evenly, becomes tender, and absorbs the spices better. You can use any kind of hard cheese, but keep in mind: if the cheese is salty, add less salt to the meat. The finished dish can now be served.

    Cut the meat into pieces (cut across the grain) and pound each piece on both sides. Rub each piece with a mixture of salt and pepper.

    Transfer the meat to a baking sheet with foil. Peel and wash the onion, then slice it into thin half-rings.

    Distribute the onion between all the pieces of meat, then spread a layer of mayonnaise.
