Meatballs
Description
Meatballs are a classic dish that will never go out of style! Made from natural ground meat with spices, they are perfect as a standalone dish served with fresh vegetables and greens, or paired with sauce, pasta, rice, or roasted vegetables. You can make meatballs from any type of ground meat, but the composition of the meat will affect the cooking time and the firmness of the meatballs.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making meatballs. Peel and rinse the onion. Wash the eggs and dry them thoroughly.
- 2
Step 2

Place the ground meat and finely chopped onion into a bowl. It's best to prepare the ground meat at home, and chop the onion in a meat grinder or grate it on a coarse grater.
- 3
Step 3

Beat the egg into the bowl with the minced meat and onion.
- 4
Step 4

Add the white breadcrumbs.
- 5
Step 5

Season everything with salt and pepper, and add sour cream. It will give the meatballs a more tender texture and make the minced meat more elastic.
- 6
Step 6

Mix everything well, cover and refrigerate for one hour. To achieve the desired density, beat the meat mixture by gathering it into your hand, lifting it up, and dropping it back into the bowl. Repeat this 10-15 times.
- 7
Step 7

Now you can shape the meatballs with wet hands and cook them in any convenient way, or place them in a single layer on a flat surface lined with plastic wrap and freeze.
- 8
Step 8

To boil, pour water into a saucepan, add salt, and bring to a boil. Place the meatballs into the boiling water and cook for 20 minutes, or until done.
- 9
Step 9

For frying meatballs, pour vegetable oil into a pan, heat it up, and place the meatballs in a single layer. Cook over low heat, covered, for 8-10 minutes. Flip them, add a little water, and continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes, until fully cooked. Cooking time may vary depending on the type of minced meat, heat intensity, and the size of the meatballs.
- 10
Step 10

For the baked version, grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and place the meatballs in a single layer. Bake at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
- 11
Step 11

The meatballs are ready.
