Meat pie with puff pastry
Description
Meat pie with puff pastry is one of our family's favorite dishes. As a home cook, I mainly like it for how simple and flexible it is to make—you can change the ingredients and proportions however you like. My husband likes it because it's filling and has meat in it. You'd be crazy not to make it, really :) It goes well with tea or coffee.
Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients: wash and clean the mushrooms, slice the onion, zucchini, beef, and garlic. Cut size is up to you.
- 2
Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a skillet and sear the meat pieces until golden brown on all sides. Then add all the other chopped ingredients and cook, stirring, over medium heat for 3–4 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Pour in the wine and broth.
- 4
Step 4

Add the spices and simmer over medium heat until the meat is cooked through.
- 5
Step 5

When the meat is ready, remove the pan from the heat and transfer all of its contents to an ovenproof baking dish. Cover the filling with rolled puff pastry on top, tucking the edges inward.
- 6
Step 6

Brush our dough with beaten egg, place the pie in an oven preheated to 180°C, and bake for 25–30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
- 7
Step 7

Serve the finished pie directly in the dish it was baked in.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and serve warm or cooled.
