Lightly Salted Salmon Mousse

15 min4 serv.21 февр. 2026 г.

Description

It works both for special occasions and for everyday meals. If you like, you can sprinkle finely chopped fresh dill into the prepared mousse made from lightly salted salmon and mix it through if you enjoy those kinds of flavor combinations. The dish can be chilled in the refrigerator before serving. Sliced salmon is sold in any supermarket. It can be served warm or chilled.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. The cottage cheese and sour cream can be any fat content, but they should not taste sour. If desired, you can substitute mascarpone for them.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Place the cottage cheese and sour cream in a deep glass or a blender container.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Add salt and ground black pepper, pour in lemon juice and boiled cold water, and add slices of red fish. If possible, dice the salmon into small cubes—it will be faster to grind and combine the ingredients. Water must be added, as without it the mixture will be too thick and will not purée properly.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Purée with an immersion blender for 3–4 minutes, stirring the contents of the container from time to time. The lightly salted salmon mousse is completely ready.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Prepare the serving base: place lemon slices and lettuce leaves on bread or baguette slices. Transfer the mousse to a pastry bag and pipe it carefully onto the bread. Garnish to taste and serve.
