
Marble Cake
Description
Marble cake can be a wonderful addition to a festive table. The marbled effect is achieved by alternately adding layers of dark and light batter into the baking pan.

Step 1

1. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. In another bowl, use a mixer to beat softened butter and sugar at medium speed. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add part of the flour mixture and lemon zest, then mix at low speed until smooth. Add part of the sour cream and mix again. Alternately add the remaining flour and sour cream, mixing until smooth.

2. Transfer half of the prepared dough to another bowl. Melt the chocolate over a water bath and mix it with the cream and liqueur.

3. Add the chocolate mixture to half of the dough and mix well.

4. Layer the dark and light dough in a greased pan lined with parchment paper. Gently swirl with a knife or the handle of a spoon to create a marbled effect.

5. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
