Cranberry morse for winter storage

Prepare all the ingredients.

Wash the red currants and dry them. Remove all spoiled berries, and separate the whole berries from the stems and leaves.

Blend the berries into a puree.

Strain the blackcurrant purée to remove skins and seeds.

Transfer the puree to a saucepan, mix with sugar and citric acid.

Pour in the water. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes.

Pour the hot compote into a clean sterilized jar.

Seal the jar tightly, turn it upside down, wrap it in a kitchen towel, and leave it until completely cooled.
