Description

The recipe won't take much time. Cranberries are widely used in baking, main dishes, and pickling. Cranberries also make a very tasty kissel, well-known and loved in our country. But does everyone know how to properly prepare cranberry kissel? There are many recipes for it, and every homemaker prepares it their own way—with honey, mint, vanilla, cinnamon, etc. I like making cranberry kissel with mint. It's one of the simplest recipes, and the mint adds a refreshing note to the sweet-and-sour kissel. Any homemaker can easily prepare it at home.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

Wash the berries with water and let them drain, then place them in a mortar and mash. If you don't have a mortar, you can use a sieve. Of course, you can also blend the berries with a blender, but considering their high acid content, it's better to avoid contact between the pulp and the metal parts of the appliance.

  2. 2

    Step 2

From the resulting pulp, squeeze the juice into a separate container. Place the pulp into a saucepan, pour in water, add sugar and mint leaves. Put on the stove and bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool completely.

  3. 3

    Step 3

After the morse has cooled, strain it through cheesecloth and add the strained cranberry juice. The morse is ready. You can prepare morse from frozen cranberries the same way, except that the berries need to be thawed beforehand.
