Korean-Style Carrots Without Vinegar

180 min4 serv.21 февр. 2026 г.

Description

A tasty appetizer for any gathering. Korean-style carrots with lemon juice turn out more flavorful and original; their taste is milder than in the vinegar version—I would even say richer, since a subtle citrus note appears here. Be sure to try this version. Serve the appetizer at the table.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

    Prepare all necessary ingredients.

  2. 2

    Step 2

Press the garlic through a garlic press and add it to the carrots; also add salt, sugar, and Korean-style carrot seasoning.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Thoroughly heat the vegetable oil until it begins to sizzle slightly, then pour it into the bowl with the carrots so that it pours directly onto the garlic. This will cause the garlic to start releasing its aroma and infuse the carrots with it.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Squeeze the juice from half a lemon. Add it to the bowl with the carrots.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

    Mix everything well.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Cover the bowl of carrots with a lid or a plate so that, first, the carrots do not dry out and, second, they actively release their juice. Place the carrots in the refrigerator for at least 2–3 hours, or overnight.

Korean-style carrots without vinegar are ready.
