
Miso Eggplants
Description
The recipe won't take much time. I'll explain in more detail below. Serve the appetizer at the table.

Prepare all the ingredients.

Cut the eggplant in half. Make crisscross cuts, but do not cut all the way through.

Heat a skillet with a small amount of oil. Place the eggplant cut-side down. Fry it for a few minutes until the skin turns slightly brown.

Flip the eggplant over. Cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for another 5–7 minutes until the eggplant is tender. To speed up the process, you can add a couple of tablespoons of hot water.

For the sauce, mix miso paste, mirin, sugar, and sake.

Brush the surface of the eggplant with the resulting sauce. Bake the eggplant for 10 minutes in a preheated oven at 200°C.

Before serving, sprinkle with sesame seeds. The miso eggplants are ready — enjoy your meal!
