Pollock in sauce

Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Many people say that pollock is a second-rate fish and you can't make anything tasty from it. Well, I somewhat agree—it's true that pollock is not salmon or trout—but still, with the right approach, you can create a quite decent dish from pollock. Pollock in sauce is exactly such a dish. My family prepares it regularly two or three times a year, and it's always enjoyed. Wishing you the same :) Enjoy! The dish is ready to be served.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare the pollack: trim off all the fins, then cut the fish into portion-sized pieces.

    Step 2

    Step 2

Slice the carrots into thin rounds.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

We also slice the onion into thin half-rings. Sauté the onion and carrots in oil in a frying pan for about 3-4 minutes. Now pay close attention: leave half of the vegetables in the pan, and transfer the other half to another container and set aside for now.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Season the pieces of pollock with salt, coat in flour, and fry over high heat in vegetable oil (on another skillet, of course).

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Fry for about 2 minutes on each side, until a crust forms.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Now place the fried fish pieces onto the vegetables left in the frying pan. On top, add the second half of the vegetables. Do not turn on the heat yet.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Prepare the sauce. Mix tomato sauce, pressed garlic, and spices.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

Pour the sauce over the fish in the pan, cover with a lid, and simmer over low heat for 40 minutes. That's it—pollock in sauce is ready! :)
