Start preparing Milfeu by baking rye crackers. To do this, put rye and wheat flour into a bowl, make a depression in the center, pour in 3 tablespoons of olive oil, add salt, and optionally add caraway seeds.

Add warm water gradually while kneading the dough; you will need 0.3–0.5 cup of water.

Place the kneaded dough in a bag for one hour.

Roll out the dough into a 4-5 mm thick sheet. Cut out crackers using a salad ring and transfer them onto a baking sheet. Prick the crackers with a fork.

Bake the crackers at 180 degrees for 20 minutes. At the same time, cook buckwheat porridge; for half a cup of buckwheat, use 1 cup of water, or 1 part buckwheat to 2 parts water.
