Mussels in garlic sauce
Description
Mussels prepared by this recipe turn out very tasty, and the creamy garlic sauce adds a special touch to the seafood. Many people make this sauce without garlic, but with spices it becomes much more delicious.

Step 1

1. First, you need to boil the mussels. If you have more mussels than specified in the recipe, it's better to cook them in several batches. Mussels don't require long cooking time (if they are fresh-frozen)—just a few minutes in boiling, slightly salted water.

Step 2

2. While the mussels are cooling, prepare the sauce: first, fry the flour with garlic. I added a spoonful of butter to the pan and lightly fried the flour over low heat.

Step 3

3. Fry the onion separately. It's better to fry it in vegetable oil (olive oil is too greasy in this case).

Step 4

4. Mix the onion with flour and pour a little cream into the pan. I used no more than 150 grams. Mix everything thoroughly and bring to a boil.

Step 5

5. You can add a little parsley to the sauce. Now the sauce is ready and can be added to the main ingredient.

Step 6

6. Some chefs recommend pouring the sauce over the mussels and placing them in a preheated oven for a few minutes. Another serving option is to arrange the mussels on a large plate, garnish with fresh vegetables and herbs, and top with a "cap" of sauce.
