
Stewed mussels
Description
Cooking mussels in their shells at home is not only safer, as you can be confident in the quality of the seafood, but also more aesthetically pleasing. Treat yourself to a dish worthy of a fine restaurant.

1. First, wash the orange, dry it, and grate the zest. Squeeze some juice and pour it over the zest. Set aside for now. Finely chop the shallot and garlic. In a saucepan or a high-sided skillet, heat the olive and butter. Add the onion, garlic, and a sprig of marjoram. You can use other herbs you like in this recipe for stewed mussels.

2. Leave to sauté over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes. Meanwhile, squeeze the remaining orange juice.

3. Pour in the wine and orange juice. Bring to a boil.

4. Place the mussels in the pan, cover with a lid, and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes. Shake the pan occasionally to ensure the seafood absorbs the sauce evenly.

5. Before serving, check if all the seafood has opened. Unfortunately, any that remain closed will have to be discarded. Top the home-cooked stewed mussels with orange zest and drizzle with lemon juice. Delicious!
