
Greek-style mussels

Prepare the listed ingredients. Carefully inspect the mussels to make sure there are no open ones among them.

Wash the tomatoes in water and place them in a deep container. Bring water to a boil and pour the boiling water over the tomatoes, let them sit for 10-15 minutes. Then peel off their skins.

Rinse the mussels and place them in a saucepan or pot. Pour in white wine—preferably table wine. Add a pinch of salt and pepper, and a bay leaf. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.

Grate the tomatoes on a grater into a deep container. Finely chop the garlic and fry in vegetable oil in a frying pan for about 1 minute.

Pour the tomato purée into the garlic, add salt, and simmer for about 2-3 minutes over medium heat.

Place the mussels in the sauce and simmer for about 2-3 minutes, covering the container with a lid.
