Homemade honey gingerbread cookies
Description
Delicious baked treats for the whole family. This recipe includes honey. I always add cocoa to my gingerbread as well—it gives the baked goods a beautiful dark color. My go-to spices are cinnamon, citrus zest, and cloves. These gingerbreads make a great snack for kids. Moreover, they are perfect for the holiday season, especially when decorated with icing. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

Step 1

Mix honey with baking soda, eggs, powdered sugar, and spices in a bowl. Add flour and stir. Transfer the dough onto a board. Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 24 hours.

Step 2

Roll out the dough and cut out any shapes using cookie cutters or templates. The choice is up to your imagination. I drew and cut out the templates myself.

Step 3

Grease the baking sheet with a piece of butter or margarine. Place the honey cookies on the sheet and bake at 190 degrees until done.

Step 4

The sign of readiness is a change in the color of the gingerbread. They should turn slightly golden brown. Make sure they don't burn.
