
Butter cookies
Description
This cookie is so quick and easy to prepare that you can make it in no time at all. It's the perfect baked treat for unexpected guests. Serve these cookies with soups, as a snack, or for breakfast with homemade jam, sauce, or butter. They go well with tea or coffee.

1. Preheat the oven to 230 degrees. Sift the flour into a large bowl. Add baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar, and salt. Whisk to combine all ingredients.

2. Add the butter cut into pieces.

3. Mix the mixture by hand or with a pastry cutter until it resembles coarse crumbs the size of peas.

4. Lightly beat the egg in a bowl. Add milk and mix. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and stir with a fork until smooth.

5. Shape the dough into a ball and place it on a floured surface. Roll the dough into a disc 2 cm thick. We do not recommend using a rolling pin for this, as it will reduce the flakiness of the cookies.

6. Using a cookie cutter or molds, cut out circles and place the cookies on a baking sheet.

7. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Let cool and serve with jam or butter.
