Marmitako
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. I tried this dish in Spain and decided to make it at home—it's not too difficult. The only thing missing is the abundance of fresh seafood available at Spanish markets. To prepare marmitako, you'll need boneless tuna fillet; you can buy fresh-frozen tuna at the supermarket. The tuna turns out very tasty, the white wine gives it a rich aroma, and the fish contains fewer calories than meat. See the recipe with photos. The finished dish can now be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, finely chop the onion and garlic. Cut the green pepper into small cubes as well.
- 2
Step 2

Now sauté everything in olive oil in a saucepan.
- 3
Step 3

Now wash and peel the potatoes. It's better to use young potatoes—they cook faster and are more delicious.
- 4
Step 4

Cut the potatoes in half and add them to the pot with the pepper and onion.
- 5
Step 5

Pour in the wine.
- 6
Step 6

Now add the tomato paste.
- 7
Step 7

Now pour the fish soup over everything (dissolve the cube in half a liter of water and bring to a boil). You can also use natural fish soup.
- 8
Step 8

Meanwhile, cut the tuna into medium pieces.
- 9
Step 9

When the potatoes are ready, place the tuna pieces on top and cover with a lid. Salt and pepper to taste, if necessary. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
