Gummy worms

Description

I want to mention right away that I don't use sugar in this recipe, as the berries are ripe and sweet enough on their own. However, if you're using tart berries or fruits, add sugar to the puree to taste. If you happen to have special molds for making gummy worms, the process will be even easier. But you can just as well manage with everyday kitchen tools.

    You can use not only fresh but also frozen berries if it's out of season. As molds, I will use cocktail straws.

    Wash the berries, remove stems and leaves, and dry. Puree using an immersion blender or strain through a sieve.

    This puree will be the base. If you want to achieve a more intense color, add food coloring.

    Add gelatin.

    Pour in the water. Mix and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then warm it over a water bath, stirring constantly.

    Connect the straws with a rubber band or string. Place them in a glass or other suitable container.

    Carefully fill the straws with the berry base. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

    Now comes the most crucial step. One by one, dip the straws into boiling water for a second, dry them with a paper towel, and carefully squeeze out the little worms.
