Kumquat Marmalade
Description
Sometimes we come across exotic vegetables or fruits in stores or on cooking websites. And the first thought is—what can I make with this? I love citrus fruits, so I always have plenty of orange and lemon preserves at home. Recently, my parents brought me this amazing fruit called kumquat to try! :) It's slightly bitter, but I found a way to remove the bitterness and even came up with a recipe for kumquat marmalade :) Read on, check out the photos, and start cooking!
Instructions

Step 1

Wash the qukvats and cut them in half. Cover with cold water and place in the refrigerator for 18–24 hours. This is necessary to remove the bitterness from the peel.

Step 2

Cut the tangerines in half. Remove the seeds, squeeze out the juice, and slice the flesh.

Step 3

Now take out the kumquat, slice it as well. Mix the kumquat and tangerines in a saucepan, add sugar, and cook first over low heat, then increase and reduce the heat again. Cook for about 20 minutes, stirring constantly.

Step 4

The jelly must reach a temperature of 100 degrees. Place a food thermometer into the jelly if you have one. If after 20 minutes the temperature has not reached 100 degrees, continue cooking a bit longer.

Step 5

Place the finished jelly into hot sterilized jars. Seal them, wrap in a blanket, and let them cool down on their own :) You can open the first jar after three days. An opened jar should also be kept in the refrigerator for no longer than three days. Enjoy your meal!
