Pickled onions for winter

Description

Homemade preserves keep for a long time. You're sure to love this simple recipe for pickled yellow onions for winter! At least I liked it, although I don't eat onions fresh. Here they turn out crispy, pickled, and salty—more like pickled vegetables such as peppers or zucchini. Delicious. Store in a cool, dark place.

    1. Bring 1 liter of water to a boil with salt. Fill a separate container with cold clean water. Blanch the onion by dipping it for 2–3 minutes alternately in hot and cold water until it becomes transparent.

    2. Evenly distribute all the seasonings among clean jars. Into each jar, add one sprig of dill and one sprig of parsley, 2-3 bay leaves, and 5-7 black peppercorns and allspice berries. Then add the onions.

    3. Add vinegar and sugar to the water in which the onions were boiled, then bring it to a boil again. Pour into jars and seal for winter storage.
