Marinated Eggs in Soy Sauce
Description
Suitable for both special occasions and everyday meals. You'll be surprised by the unique flavor of marinated eggs and will definitely want to make this dish again—fortunately, chicken eggs can be replaced with quail eggs. Experiment not only with the eggs, but also with spices and seasonings. Serve with fresh herbs and sauce.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. You can use either chicken or quail eggs.
- 2
Step 2

Boil the chicken eggs in hot water for about 15 minutes, then let them cool for just 5 minutes so they are still warm. Peel off the shells and rinse them.
- 3
Step 3

Into a deep container, add salt, ground black pepper, and sugar. If you like, you can also add other herbs or spices.
- 4
Step 4

Pour in the soy sauce and vinegar and gently mix everything together. Without vinegar, you won't get a marinade—you'll get brine.
- 5
Step 5

Place the boiled chicken eggs in the sauce and put everything in the refrigerator for 1–2 days. Remember to turn them over every 4–6 hours so the eggs absorb the sauce evenly.
- 6
Step 6

The eggs will gradually absorb the sauce.
- 7
Step 7

Arrange the marinated eggs on a plate, or slice them. Serve with fresh herbs, vegetables, or sauces.
