Pickled Stuffed Cabbage Rolls with Carrots
Description
Depending on your taste preferences, homemade pickled stuffed cabbage rolls with carrots can be saltier or spicier, slightly sweet or vinegary. You can experiment with the marinade by adding your favorite spices and seasonings. If you like, you can also add pieces of beetroot to give the cabbage a bright color. Serve with fresh herbs and sauce.
Instructions

Step 1

1. First, choose a pot of the appropriate size (so the cabbage will fit), bring water to a boil in it. Carefully lower the cabbage into the water and let it simmer over low heat until the leaves become soft and easy to remove.
- 2
Step 2

2. After removing the leaves, place the very dense ones that are difficult to roll back in water for a few more minutes.
- 3
Step 3

3. Meanwhile, peel and grate the carrots.
- 4
Step 4

4. Press the peeled garlic cloves through a garlic press. This ingredient is optional in the recipe for pickled stuffed cabbage rolls with carrots if you do not like garlic.
- 5
Step 5

5. Now is the perfect time to experiment: add a pinch of salt, pepper, coriander, or other aromatic spices. You can sprinkle in some chopped herbs, for example. Mix everything thoroughly.
- 6
Step 6

6. Carefully trim off the thick parts from the leaves.
- 7
Step 7

7. Place the filling in the center. Meanwhile, put the marinade on the heat, combining water, salt, sugar, oil, and vinegar.
- 8
Step 8

8. Carefully roll up and place the cabbage rolls in a deep bowl.
- 9
Step 9

9. Pour the slightly cooled marinade over everything and place a weight on top. Let the home-marinated stuffed cabbage rolls with carrots rest for at least 2 days, then remove the weight and transfer the dish to the refrigerator for one more day.
