Marinade for shashlik with onion
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. I'm sure many are familiar with this recipe. It's a classic - onion, vinegar, and your favorite spices. You can use a ready-made barbecue seasoning, or add dried oregano, black and red pepper. By the way, I recommend using not regular table vinegar, but apple cider or wine vinegar, which has a richer flavor, resulting in traditionally juicy and very aromatic meat. The finished dish can be served immediately.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Wash the meat and dry it.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the meat into medium-sized pieces. I don't like cutting it too large because it will require more time to cook and also need longer marinating.
- 3
Step 3

Slice the onion into rings or half-rings if you are not frying it together with the meat.
- 4
Step 4

Mix the meat, onion, barbecue seasoning, salt, and vinegar.
- 5
Step 5

Mix everything well and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. It's better to marinate the meat overnight, as it will turn out more tender.
- 6
Step 6

When the coals in the grill are ready, thread the meat onto skewers; if you like roasted onions, thread them between the pieces of meat.
- 7
Step 7

Cook the meat until done.
- 8
Step 8

Can be served.
