Pumpkin manty

Description

In our family, we usually prefer meat-filled manty over vegetarian ones. But when the kitchen is overflowing with pumpkins, it would be sacrilege not to use all that bounty for making manty. Still, we couldn't resist adding a little meat :) As a result, for dinner we had delicious manty with pumpkin, bacon, and cheese. Juicy, soft, tender—they simply melted in your mouth. Even my husband, a die-hard meat lover, said they were delicious! :) Good luck with your cooking!

    First of all, peel the pumpkin and remove the seeds. Grate the pumpkin on a coarse grater.

    Be sure to squeeze the grated pumpkin—otherwise, the manty will fall apart during cooking.

    Then add our spices to the grated and squeezed pumpkin.

    Chop the onion in a blender (not into a puree, but finely) and add it to the pumpkin. However, if you prefer whole pieces of onion, you can simply chop it with a knife.

    We cut the ready-made dough into small pieces, each of which we roll out into a thin sheet—like in the photo.

    Place a thin slice of bacon on the rolled-out sheet of dough.

    On top of the bacon, we place a little of our pumpkin filling.

    Sprinkle the filling with grated cheese on top.

    Now we proceed to shape our dumpling in the most ordinary way.

    Actually, we shape all the remaining manty in the same way, then boil them in salted boiling water until cooked. They can be served with sour cream (we served them with a special pumpkin sauce—I'll definitely share its recipe too when I have time). :)
