Naturally, each nation has its own unique ingredients and method of preparing this dish. Today, I'd like to share with you how to make Tatar-style manty. The special feature of this recipe is that, for extra juiciness, we'll add raw potato along with the meat filling, making the dish even more flavorful, moist, and satisfying. Honestly, I have to say that just 3–4 pieces of manty are enough to fill me up completely. So with this Tatar-style manty recipe, you'll easily be able to feed not only your family but also your honored guests. Serve hot.

In a bowl, break the eggs, add water, and season with salt.

Now we begin to gradually add the flour and knead the dough.

When the dough becomes thick enough and difficult to stir in the bowl, transfer it onto a floured surface and begin kneading by hand, gradually adding flour.

You should end up with very dense and elastic dough; cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 15–20 minutes.

Finely chop the onion.

Cut the potatoes into small cubes.

Mix the chopped onion, potato, and ground meat, season with salt and spices.

Now, separate about one-third of the dough and roll it out into a thin sheet. Then cut it into squares with sides of 8-10 centimeters.

Place about a tablespoon of filling in the center of each square.

Traditionally, manty are cooked in a special pot called a mantyshnitsa, which is greased with vegetable oil, and the cooking time is 45 minutes. However, you can also prepare them in a steamer.
