
Semolina meatballs like in kindergarten
Description
It goes perfectly with tea and coffee. Remembering kindergarten meals, one wants to mention that such patties were served with kissel. But they can be served with condensed milk, with jam, with fruit sauce, as well as with fresh or frozen berries. Sometimes raisins or any other dried fruits are added to the semolina, so if you like semolina patties, they can be easily varied.

Prepare all the ingredients.

Pour milk into a small pot. Add salt, sugar to taste, and while stirring bring to a boil.

As soon as foam begins to appear on the surface, stir the milk with a spoon and, without stopping, pour the semolina in a thin stream.

Reduce the heat to minimum and, while continuing to stir, cook the semolina until the porridge begins to thicken. At this stage it is very convenient to use not a spoon but a regular hand whisk, which will help avoid lumps. The finished porridge should become thick enough that, when stirred, it easily releases from the sides of the pot. Cool the cooked porridge to a warm temperature.

Transfer the cooled porridge to a bowl and add an egg.

Vigorously stir until smooth. If the mixture becomes lumpy, use a mixer.

With wet hands, shape the semolina into patties and coat them in flour.

Fry in vegetable oil in a pan on both sides until golden brown.

Manna patties like in kindergarten are ready. They can be served hot, warm, or cooled.
