Description

The recipe won't take much time. This simple mandarin marmalade recipe is special because it achieves a jelly-like texture even without adding extra ingredients. This jam is perfect for toasts or aromatic tea. 1. First, wash and dry the mandarins and lemon. 2. Cut them in half and place into a tall, thick-bottomed pot. 3. Add sugar and water. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15 minutes. The mandarins should become quite soft. 4. Remove from heat and let cool thoroughly. 5. Squeeze the juice from the cooled mandarins and lemon. To prevent seeds or unwanted pieces from getting in, strain the juice. 6. Return the future mandarin marmalade to the heat and simmer over low heat for about 1.5 hours (it may take up to 2 hours). You can easily check readiness by setting aside a small amount and letting it cool. If it thickens well, it's ready to be removed from heat. 7. Spoon the mandarin marmalade into jars and let cool completely. Store in tightly sealed containers. Serve chilled.
