Description

The recipe won't take much time. They say that Moldovans have strong and healthy teeth precisely because they often eat mamaliga. Maybe so. But I won't argue that mamaliga is a delicious porridge. And with feta or any other cheese—it's absolutely delicious. Let me tell you how to make mamaliga with feta. The recipe is very simple, so don't be afraid of ruining anything and get started. Serve hot.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Pour the milk into a saucepan and bring to a boil.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Add the cornmeal and stir constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Add salt, but be careful with it. First, taste the brinza cheese—if it's very salty, you might not need to add salt to the mamaliga at all.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Cook the polenta for about 10 minutes. Don't forget to stir it constantly during this time, otherwise the porridge will burn. After 10 minutes, reduce the heat to the minimum and cover the porridge with a lid. Let it sit on the heat for another 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can wrap it in a warm blanket.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Grate the feta cheese on a coarse grater.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Now we start forming the polenta with brined cheese. Place a portion of the porridge at the bottom of a deep bowl.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Sprinkle the porridge with part of the grated brine cheese.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

    Then again the porridge...

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

And then grated brinza again. The number of layers can be adjusted at your discretion and depending on the amount of ingredients. In this recipe, the ingredient quantities are calculated for one generous serving.
