Lightly Salted Cucumbers in a Bag

600 min4 serv.21 февр. 2026 г.

Description

A homemade winter preserve. Once I learned how to make them, I started making them quite often! They’re a wonderful tangy addition to any side dish. For winter, it’s best to use the classic salting method. Unfortunately, these cucumbers don’t keep for long, so make them and eat them right away! Here’s how: the jars keep for up to a year in a cool place.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Wash the cucumbers thoroughly. Also wash the dill and pat dry with a paper towel. Peel and wash the garlic.

Finely chop the dill and garlic.

    Step 3

Prepare 2 clean bags. For reliability, I always use a double bag—one inside the other. Trim the ends off the cucumbers and place them in the bag.

Also add chopped dill with garlic, salt, and sugar to the bag.

Tie the bag shut and gently spread everything evenly, then shake and mix. Refrigerate the bag for 9–10 hours. During salting, you can shake it several times.

The pickles are ready! Very simple and delicious!
