Description

A simple preserving recipe. To make jam, choose ripe, juicy berries with no signs of spoilage. You need plenty of sugar—it’s what gives the finished jam its thick consistency. Store jars for up to a year in a cool place.

Instructions

  1. 1

To make the jam, prepare the necessary ingredients. Pick through the raspberries to remove leaves and stems.

The top layer must be sugar. Cover the pot with a lid and leave the berries for several hours so they release their juice. You can leave them overnight.

The berries have steeped and released a lot of juice.

Place over heat and bring to a boil. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved. Cook the berries for 20–30 minutes. During this time, excess liquid will evaporate from them.

Then puree the entire mixture with an immersion blender. Return the smooth raspberry puree to the heat and cook until it reaches your desired thickness. The longer you cook it, the thicker the result will be.

At this time, prepare the jars. Wash them thoroughly and sterilize them using any method that is convenient for you. Scald the lids with boiling water.
