Malaysian lace pancakes
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. Malaysian lace pancakes turn out not only very tasty, but also beautiful and appetizing. They get a bright yellow color thanks to turmeric—a natural coloring agent that also gives the pancakes a unique flavor. These pancakes will surely be a hit with kids and make a great breakfast. Serve the pancakes with any non-sweet sauce. Enjoy warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Mix all the dry ingredients: flour, salt, and spices.
- 3
Step 3

Then pour in the milk and mix well until smooth. I recommend adding the milk in small portions, stirring the batter until smooth each time, so that there are definitely no lumps.
- 4
Step 4

Then break the egg into the dough and pour in the vegetable oil, mix well.
- 5
Step 5

The dough should have the consistency of regular pancake batter: thick and similar to sour cream.
- 6
Step 6

To make lace pancakes, you can use a bottle: simply pour the batter into the bottle, make a hole in the cap, and squeeze the batter through it to draw a beautiful pattern. You can also use a piping bag with an appropriate tip or a sturdy plastic bag with a small cut made in one corner. I used a piping bag. Heat the pan well; there's no need to grease it since the batter already contains oil. Draw a pattern with the batter on the pan (for example, a flower, making sure all petals are connected without gaps). Cook the lacy pancakes as usual: one minute on each side.
- 7
Step 7

The lacy pancakes are ready. I got quite a lot of them from the entire amount of batter, since they are lacy.

Enjoy your meal!
