Poppy seed pie with cherries
Description
Homemade baking for tea. A cherry and poppy seed pie is very easy and quick to make. You can use any cherries: fresh, frozen, or dried. Fresh or frozen cherries often turn a little blue or even black in the finished pie, from the interaction between the starch in the flour and the acid in the cherries. You won’t get that effect with dried cherries. Adjust the amount of poppy seeds to your taste. A lot of it belongs in yeast rolls or yeast pies. In this case I wouldn’t overdo the poppy seeds. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
