Macaroons
Description
Macarons are a fantastic dessert that I could eat all day long. My wife, children, and all our guests feel exactly the same way :) They disappear in no time. The wide variety of food coloring works to our advantage— the more colorful the macarons, the more appealing and delicious they become. They're truly a magical addition to any festive table or tea time! If you've tried making them, please don't hesitate to rate the macaron recipe in the comments. Thank you! Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

In a bowl, use a mixer to beat egg whites with sugar. They should increase in volume and hold their shape. Add food coloring.
- 2
Step 2

You should get a beautiful foam like this.
- 3
Step 3

Sift almond flour and powdered sugar to remove any lumps.
- 4
Step 4

Then add the dry ingredients to the beaten egg whites.
- 5
Step 5

Gently mix with a spatula.
- 6
Step 6

Transfer the dough into a pastry or regular polyethylene bag.
- 7
Step 7

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a piping bag (or a regular bag with the corner cut off), shape the dough into cookies. They should be fairly thick. Let them rest at room temperature for about 20 minutes to form a skin that will prevent cracks from forming on the cookies.

Step 8

Then preheat the oven to 150 degrees and bake the cookies for 15-20 minutes. After that, take the cookies out, let them cool, then spread a little Nutella chocolate paste on the flat side of a macaron and sandwich two together. Done! Store the macarons in the refrigerator :)
