Macaroni and cheese in a cone

60 min4 serv.20 февр. 2026 г.

Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Mac and cheese in a pastry horn is both an original individual serving and a delicious filling. You can buy the horn at a store, but I recommend making it yourself from puff pastry. When brushed with egg, the horn turns out very appetizing! Special molds are sold for this kind of pastry, but if you can't find them, don't worry—you can make the mold yourself using foil. The finished dish is ready to be served.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. The puff pastry should already be sitting on the counter for about 15 minutes. Immediately place a pot of water on the stove to boil the pasta, and turn on the oven.

  2. 2

    Step 2

Make cone-shaped molds for the horns from foil. To do this, it's better to fold the foil three or even four times.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Cut the defrosted puff pastry into strips 2 cm wide. Wrap these strips around the prepared molds, starting from the narrowest point.

    Step 4

Brush the horns with egg and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes (temperature — 180 degrees).

    Step 5

Finely chop the bacon and fry it in a pan until crispy. Don't forget to season lightly with salt.

Melt the butter in a saucepan.

Add the flour and mix well.

    Step 8

    Step 8

Constantly stirring, pour in the milk. Simmer the sauce over low heat until it begins to thicken.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

When the sauce is ready, add the cheese grated on a coarse grater, mix vigorously so that the cheese is evenly distributed and melts.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

Then add the cooked pasta, mix again.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

At the end, add the fried bacon, leaving a little to garnish the horns.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

The horns are just done baking. Carefully remove the foil and let the pastry cool.

  13. 13

    Step 13

    Step 13

Fill the shells with the prepared filling. Top with the reserved bacon. Optionally, you can also garnish with finely chopped green onions. Enjoy!
