
Muffins with nutmeg and cinnamon

1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Beat butter and sugar in a bowl with a mixer at medium speed until soft, about 3-5 minutes. Add vanilla extract. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.

2. In a separate large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture alternately with sour cream and cream, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Beat on low speed.

3. To prepare the topping, mix 1 cup of sugar with 2 tablespoons of cinnamon in a medium bowl. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop the batter from the bowl, shape it into a ball, and roll it in the sugar mixture. Make sure the topping evenly coats the muffins on all sides.

4. Place the muffins into a muffin tin with 12-14 cups, greased with butter. You can also use paper muffin liners—simply place them into the tin. Optionally, sprinkle the muffins with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon on top.

5. Bake the muffins in a preheated oven for approximately 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
