Onion tart with lightly salted sprats
Description
For the recipe, can be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Remove the dough from the freezer in advance so it slightly thaws and becomes easy to roll out. Peel the onion and garlic.
- 2
Step 2

Roll out the dough thinly, place it into a round baking pan, trim the excess edges and use them to patch any areas where the dough is missing. Prick the dough with a fork and bake in the oven for 15–20 minutes at 180°C until golden.
- 3
Step 3

Slice the garlic thinly and fry in vegetable oil for a few minutes, allowing the oil to absorb the garlic flavor, then remove the garlic, as it will no longer be needed.
- 4
Step 4

Place the onion, cut into half-rings or quarter-rings, into a frying pan. Add salt to taste and Provence herbs. Mix and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion becomes soft and slightly golden.
- 5
Step 5

The onion turned out very appetizing; I'd eat it right now, but wait — it's a pie filling.
- 6
Step 6

Press down the baked puff pastry with a spoon, as it will still rise in the center. Place the onion filling in the center.
- 7
Step 7

Remove the head, backbone, and tail from the herring, then place it on top of the onion filling. Put olives in the center.
- 8
Step 8

Bake the tart in the oven at 180 degrees for 15 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Ready. Serve at the table.
