Onion pie made with puff pastry
Description
Onion pie is considered a real find for those who are indifferent to sweet pies. This pie is popular in France and is considered a typical dish of that country. In Russia, this baked good is also successful. For preparation, store-bought dough is quite sufficient—the taste won't suffer. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions

Step 1

Take the dough out of the freezer. While it is defrosting, let's prepare the filling. Peel the onion and slice it into half-rings. Fry it in a pan until golden brown. Add salt and spices to taste.

Step 2

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. The amount is up to your preference. If you want a richer filling, you can grate more cheese—about 200 grams.
- 3
Step 3

In a deep bowl, beat the eggs together with the sour cream. Then mix in the grated cheese.
- 4
Step 4

Roll out a little more than half of the dough and place it into a greased pan. Form small edges. Place the filling onto the layer of dough.
- 5
Step 5

Pour the filling with the egg mixture. Roll out the remaining dough, cut it into strips, and place them evenly on the pie. Brush the pie with egg yolk.

Step 6

Place the pie in an oven preheated to 220 degrees. Bake for half an hour until a golden crust forms.
