
Onion-apple pie
Description

Surprise them with this recipe and create something unique from simple ingredients! Tip: it's best to use sour apples. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

1. Let's start by preparing the pie dough. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater, and set aside 75 grams for making the dough.

2. Mix 75 grams of cheese with flour, dry mustard, and salt.

3. Add the melted butter and water to the dry ingredients. Knead until you get a soft dough.

4. Roll the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate.

5. Prepare the filling. Peel the onion and dice it. Sauté in olive oil until lightly golden.

6. When the onion becomes slightly golden, add the apples grated on a coarse grater. Simmer for 5 minutes.

7. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and place it into a parchment-lined pan (I used a 20 cm diameter pan). Press the dough evenly and form high edges.

8. Bake for 20 minutes in a preheated oven at 200 degrees.

9. While the dough is baking, prepare the filling for the pie using sour cream, the remaining cheese, eggs, and Provence herbs. Season the filling with salt and pepper to taste.

10. When the dough is ready, add the filling of onions and apples.

11. Pour the prepared topping over the top. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 35–45 minutes, until a golden crust forms.
