Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients: onion, flour, egg, butter, and salt.

Peel the yellow onion, rinse, and pat dry. Slice the onion into rings, then separate all the onion rings into individual rings. Meanwhile, put a saucepan with vegetable oil on the stove and let it heat up.

Step 3

In a deep bowl, using a blender, whisk the egg and three tablespoons of water.
- 4
Step 4

Add two tablespoons of wheat flour to the eggs. Whisk everything again again.
- 5
Step 5

This yields a batter that we will use to make onion rings.

Step 6

In a separate deep bowl, combine the onions, the remaining two tablespoons of wheat flour, and a pinch of salt. Toss everything well so each onion ring is coated with flour.

After coating in flour, dip each ring in the batter and transfer to hot oil.
- 8
Step 8

Fry the onion rings in oil for 15–20 seconds on each side.
