Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Pour warm drinking water into a bowl and add dry yeast to it. Sift the flour and mix it with salt. Pour the flour onto a working surface in a mound and make a depression in the center.
- 2
Step 2
Pour the water with yeast into the indentation. Then knead the dough, adding water as needed. The dough should be elastic, firm, and dense.
- 3
Step 3
Pour vegetable oil into a deep saucepan, place it on the stove, and bring to a boil. Pinch off pieces of dough, shape them into walnut-sized balls, and fry in hot oil until golden brown.
- 4
Step 4
Place the cooked balls on a plate with a paper towel folded several times to absorb excess oil.
- 5
Step 5
Now prepare the syrup. Put sugar and honey into a saucepan, pour in water, and bring to a boil on the stove. Cook the syrup for five minutes, then cool it and pour over the balls. Let them soak, sprinkle with cinnamon, and serve.
