Potato boats

Description

My family absolutely loves this dish, and whenever I make it, our home turns into a little celebration. Even though it's actually a very simple recipe for potato boats with minimal ingredients. Sometimes I even prepare it for festive lunches—while the taste might not be the most sophisticated, it looks very original and vibrant on the table. So let me just tell you,

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, wash the potatoes if they are young, or peel them if not. Then cut them in half lengthwise. Place them in a deep bowl, season with salt and spices. I usually use black pepper and fresh or dried herbs.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Cut the cheese and bacon into pieces that are approximately the same size as our potato boats.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Place the potatoes on a baking sheet, and to help them stand firmly, make a small cut on the bottom. On top of each potato, place a piece of bacon and a piece of cheese, then secure everything in the center with a toothpick.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Place the boats in a preheated oven at 180 degrees and cook for about an hour. After an hour, check the readiness by carefully piercing the potato with a knife. If the knife goes in easily, the boats are ready.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

And the final step is making the sails. Cut thin slices of cheese and attach them to a toothpick. This way, we get a beautiful little fleet at home. Create waves from lettuce leaves, and our little boats are ready to set sail for the festive table.
