Description
The recipe won't take much time. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius), grease and flour a baking pan. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Pour 1 cup of butter with water into a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and set aside to cool. Beat eggs in a separate bowl, add sugar, sour cream, butter mixture, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing well. Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and stir. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes. Cool. To make the icing, place 1/2 cup of butter and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat, and whisk in powdered sugar, pecans, and vanilla extract. Spread the warm icing over the cooled cake. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
