Pancakes in a wok
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Golden, crispy flatbreads fried in oil—how can anyone resist such deliciousness? :) In India, these flatbreads are called puri. I suggest you try this recipe using a wok. The dough recipe is quite simple, and you'll quickly fry the flatbreads in the wok. After frying, it's best to place the flatbreads on a paper towel. That's useful if you're cooking when nobody else is home. At my place, the flatbreads get snatched straight from the pan :) Here's how to make them:
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Mix corn and wheat flour. Add salt.
- 2
Step 2

Add the butter and rub it into the flour.
- 3
Step 3

Pile the flour into a mound, make a depression in the center, and pour the water into it.
- 4
Step 4

Grease your hands with oil and start kneading the dough. The longer you knead, the better it will be.
- 5
Step 5

Let the dough mature for about 15 minutes, then divide it into small pieces.
- 6
Step 6

Roll each piece into a thin flatbread.
- 7
Step 7

Pour cooking oil into a wok and heat well. Fry the flatbread in the hot oil on both sides until golden brown. If you did everything correctly, the flatbread should puff up.
