
Flatbreads with bacon, onion, and cheese
Description
Perfect with tea and coffee. If desired, serve the flatbreads with butter. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

1. Preheat the oven to 220 °C. Prepare a baking sheet, lightly greasing it with butter or lining it with parchment paper. Fry the bacon slices in a pan until brown. Cool and cut into small pieces.

2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar. Add the butter cut into pieces and mix with your hands until you obtain a crumbly dough.

3. Mix in grated Cheddar cheese, sliced green onions, and sliced bacon until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

4. Add ¾ cup of cream and mix by hand. If you have a sticky mixture and there are no crumbs left at the bottom of the bowl, do not add more cream. If crumbs remain, add more cream, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture is sticky.

5. Place the dough on a floured work surface. Form a disc 15 cm in diameter and about 2 cm thick. Transfer it to a baking sheet. Using a knife, cut it into 8 slices on the baking sheet.

6. Brush the flatbreads with cream using a brush.

7. Bake for 20‑22 minutes, until the flatbreads turn golden.
